Raffa Companies Recognized by WBJ and Vault

Raffa Companies Rank as Top 50 Accounting Firm (by Vault.com) and Greater Washington Best Place to Work (by Washington Business Journal)

Raffa employees spoke loud and clear about the firm this year when asked about Raffa as a workplace. Their responses contributed to Raffa being named to the national Vault Accounting 50 list and to Raffa Financial Services being named a Washington Business Journal Best Place to Work.

Rankings of the Washington Business Journal’s Best Places to Work winners will be announced at a breakfast awards program on Friday, May 9th. Winners will also be profiled in a special supplement in the May 9 issue of the Washington Business Journal.

The Washington Business Journal looks at the area’s leading employers and judges companies based on the results of an employee survey administered by Quantum Market Research. The survey evaluates team effectiveness, retention, employee alignment with company goals, trust with co-workers, individual contribution, manager effectiveness, trust in senior leaders, feeling valued, work engagement and people practices. For small companies, 85 percent of employees must respond.

Raffa was ranked 28th on the Vault Accounting 50, a ranking of the best accounting employers to work for in North America, and 1st in the Quality of Life categories for Philanthropy programs and Diversity.

The Top 50 Accounting Firm rankings are a result of Vault’s annual Accounting Survey. Conducted earlier this year, Vault asked more than 10,000 accountants of all levels to assess their own and peer accounting firms on a scale of 1 to 10 based on prestige. Accountants were also asked to rate their own firm in various Quality of Life categories, including firm culture, compensation, overall satisfaction, training, diversity, hours, and work/life balance, among others.

For the Diversity category in which Raffa ranked number one, employees were asked to rate their firm’s commitment to diversity with respect to women, minorities, LGBT individuals, military veterans, and individuals with disabilities. Like their other Quality of Life rankings, the Diversity rankings reflect the opinions and perceptions of employees.
